Takedasan Fudoin Daishoji Temple

The Fudoin is a very old temple founded in the Ocho Period about 900 years ago, and has kept the Lamp of the Dharma burning ever since its foundation. In 1673 the temple was reconstructed by the order of Mitsukuni Mito, a vice-Shogun and renamed to the present temple name. The Buddhist sect is Shingon-shu Buzan-ha (Buzan Division of Shingon Sect) .


Cultural Assets

(1) A terreya nuafera (recognized by Ibaraki Prefecture)
It is about 600 years old and 30 m high.

(2) A wooden statue of Dainichi-Nyorai(recognized by Naka-machi)
It will be sculptured in the early period of the Edo-era.

(3) A maidenhair tree (recognized by Naka-machi)
It is about 300 years old and 20 m high.

Aji-kan or Gachirin-kan is one of meditation methods in Shingon Mikkyo, Japanese Esoteric Buddhism.
